The High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development is the United Nations central platform to review implementation and progress of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals. The HLPF is the most inclusive and participatory forum at the United Nations, and brings together all States Members and members of specialized agencies. People can participate in HLPF through the Major Groups and Other Stakeholders formats.
The 2016 HLPF will have the central role in tracking progress of the SDGs, and provide political leadership, guidance and recommendations on implementation of the 2030 Agenda. The HLPF also performs national and thematic reviews, drives coherent policies informed by evidence, and examines challenges of countries in special situations. The Forum promotes system-wide coherence of policies, and aims to improve cooperation and coordination within the UN system.
